Cookies and Other Similar Technologies

Overview: Our Site may use cookies and other similar technology. Cookies are text files that web servers send to your computer for recordkeeping and other purposes. The Site may use session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (that remain on your computer after you close your browser until you delete them or they expire). We may use cookies for security purposes, to help you navigate the Site, to display information more effectively, and to better serve you with tailored information on the Site. We may also use cookies to gather statistical information about how visitors use the Site in order to continually improve its design and function.

Pixel tags, web beacons, clear GIFs, and other similar technologies are used in connection with some Site pages to, among other things, track the actions of Site users, compile statistics about Site usage, associate non-identifiable demographic and preference data with device-related data (e.g., cookie IDs), and in some cases matching that with similar data supplied by other companies or estimate the age ranges of the audience that viewed the videos on this Site. We use, and permit third parties to use, this technology that recognize a unique identifier from a cookie placed on your device, and to provide content and ads that are more relevant to you. We also use this technology to compile information about your interaction with email or other communications and determine whether our communications have been opened.

If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows you to decline the use of cookies. Some features of the Site may not work properly if you decline the use of cookies.

Third-Parties: The Site may contain cookies or similar technologies from third-party providers that help us understand how visitors access our Site, use our Site, and how the site is performing. This information is used to improve our Site and to make our Site more intuitive. These technologies enable the third-party providers to set or read their own cookies or other identifiers on your device.

For example, we use:

Google Analytics to help us analyze how visitors use the Site. Among other things, these tools may use cookies to collect data about the number of visitors to the Site, the web page that referred the visitors, and the pages that visitors view within the Site. Google Analytics may use persistent cookies. For information on how Google Analytics collects and processes data, please visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners. To opt-out of Google Analytics across all websites, visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, which prevents Google Analytics from collecting information about website visits.

We may also enable third-party cookies and other similar technologies to collect or receive information from our Site and elsewhere for use in advertising, including for the purposes of serving advertisements targeted to users’ interests, retargeting visitors to our Site, conversion tracking (i.e., actions users take after viewing or engaging with our advertisements), measuring ad effectiveness, and to make sure you do not see the same ad repeatedly. These cookies and similar technologies collect information about your browsing habits and online behavior, including across different browsers and devices used by you, in order to serve advertisements that may be of interest to you (so-called interest based advertising). For example, third-parties use the fact you visited the Site to place online ads for us on non-MVC Interactive sites. These third-parties may use information about your use of the Site to help target non-MVC Interactive advertisements based on your online behavior and/or interests in general. Information collected generally includes actions you take on our Site (i.e., URL, previous website visited, IP address, device and browser information (i.e., operating system, browser type), timestamp, and events (i.e., page views)). In some cases, this information is connected to your social network ID. Please note that MVC Interactive is not responsible for practices by such third parties, and those practices are subject to those companies own policies.

You may use industry platforms to opt-out of interest based advertising. You may learn more about opting-out of or receiving interest-based advertisements at http://optout.aboutads.info and http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices. These tools use cookies to record and implement your preferences. If you disable or delete cookies, you will need to complete the process again. The effect of opting-out is explained on the websites.
